Luca's strongest signal: Backhand

Groundstrokes and Tactics & Point Construction are already showing up as meaningful strengths through live point construction, and those strengths are beginning to raise the quality of every rep. The next jump is Serve.

UpLVL Assessment
3 new notes, 2 earlier notes, and 7 skills interpreted for Luca's development
UpLVL
Luca is progressing through the Transition Stage, with Groundstrokes and Tactics & Point Construction emerging as the most reliable parts of the profile. Across this report window, Groundstrokes made the clearest movement while Groundstrokes continued to set the standard. In recent live point construction, Luca showed more control as the pace increased, stayed connected through tighter decisions, and carried the strongest habits into demanding moments. This shows a developing profile becoming more reliable as the demands increase. The primary priority is Serve. Luca now needs to build control and timing before adding more speed and pressure. In the Toss Consistency Under Pressure, Luca should develop a repeatable, consistent toss even when fatigue or competitive pressure is introduced, with one standard throughout: release, don't throw. Successful transfer will look like Luca using serve at full pace without losing control, timing, or awareness of the next option.

Coach JordanMar 31
Luca looked more composed between shots. Groundstrokes and Tactics & Point Construction were the clearest separators in this session and created more control in the game. The next push is Serve and Net Game so that level holds when the pace lifts, the decisions get tighter, and the game becomes less forgiving.
Coach JordanMar 2
Serve and Net Game are the clearest next step. The goal is to keep the same quality when space closes quickly.

How It Works

Develop a repeatable, consistent toss even when fatigue or competitive pressure is introduced.

What You Need
tennis ballstennis racketcourthula hoop or target ring
Mindset Rep
Play Big

Holding back produces timid results. Commit to the full motion — play with presence and confidence. Tentative serves lose before they cross the net.

Your Focus

The toss is the first motion of the serve and its inconsistency accounts for the majority of service errors at the intermediate junior level.

1
Set Up

Place a hula hoop flat on the court just inside the baseline at the 1 o'clock toss position.

2
Run The Rep
A.
Perform 20 isolated tosses (no swing), attempting to have the ball fall into the hoop; coach tracks makes and misses.
B.
After the toss isolation set, player serves 10 balls using their full motion, noting how toss quality affects serve quality.
3
Check It

Release, don't throw.

Goal

Success is a toss that goes to the same spot 8 out of 10 times even when you're tired or nervous, the toss is your anchor.

Helpful Cues
Release, don't throw.Consistent hand height, every single time.If your toss isn't right, catch it and start again, that's a skill, not a flaw.
UPLVL IT

Add a 30-second rest then repeat the full drill after a short baseline rally sprint to simulate serve fatigue in a match.
