Getting Started

What is UpLVL?

UpLVL is a development tracking platform for coaches and club programs. Log sessions, rate players, and add notes. UpLVL turns that work into professional parent reports automatically.

Who is UpLVL for?

Coaches and club administrators in youth sports programs. Parents do not need an account. They receive a link to their child’s report.

What’s the difference between a coach account and an admin account?

Coaches see their own roster, sessions, and reports. Admins see everything across coaches and teams in the program.

What plan do I need to get started?

The free plan includes up to 5 players with all core features. The paid plan is monthly and unlocks larger rosters.

How do I create an account?

Go to uplvl.app and tap Create your account. Then set up your organization and first team.

What sports does UpLVL support?

UpLVL currently supports preset skills for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, football, flag football, field hockey, hockey, tennis, and volleyball. Customization is available for other sports or more general use.

Setting Up Your Roster

How do I add players?

Go to Players and tap Add Player. Enter the player’s name, age group, and parent email.

Can I import my roster instead of adding players one by one?

Yes. UpLVL supports CSV import. Include player name, age group, and parent email at minimum.

My CSV import isn’t working. Can you help?

Yes. If your import gets stuck, send your roster file to support@getuplvl.com and we’ll import it for you.

How do I remove a player from my roster?

Go to the player’s profile and use the remove option.

What happens to data when a player is removed?

Deleted data can be restored within 14 days. Beyond the 14-day window, contact support.

Can a player appear on more than one coach’s roster?

Contact support@getuplvl.com if you need help setting that up.

Logging Sessions

How do I log a session?

Tap Log from the bottom nav. Select the player, confirm the date, add a note, and set a rating from 1 to 10.

What should I write in a session note?

Call it like you see it. Short, real coaching notes are exactly right. UpLVL AI adds structure automatically.

How does the voice note feature work?

Tap Record and speak your observations naturally. UpLVL converts your voice to text and structures it into a session note.

What does UpLVL AI do automatically?

It turns rough coaching input into polished session notes, helps update player ratings and skill scores, and automatically generates parent-ready reports from the work you already logged.

How long should logging take?

Most coaches can log quickly, often in under a minute per player.

Can I log a session after the fact?

Yes. Select a past date when logging and the session will be recorded under that date.

Can I edit a session note after saving it?

Yes. Go to the session log, open the session, and edit it before the report is sent.

What is the difference between a session note, session rating, and skill ratings?

The session note is what happened today. The session rating is your overall read on that session. Skill ratings track the player’s development over time.

What is the session rating scale?

Ratings are 1 to 10. Think of it as your overall read on the player’s session. Consistency over time matters more than any single rating.

How Scoring Works

Can I trust the ratings?

Yes. UpLVL starts with the coaching input you give it each session. Coaches stay in control and can always review or adjust what gets saved.

What does UpLVL AI use to update player progress?

UpLVL uses the session rating, the coaching note, and the overall substance of what was logged to help update player progress and skill development over time.

Can I edit AI-generated notes before saving?

Yes. Coaches can review and edit AI-generated session notes before saving them.

Can I override scores or ratings myself?

Yes. Coaches are always in control and can adjust scores and session details directly.

What is a session rating?

A session rating is your overall read on that player for that day. It reflects that specific session, not the player’s full long-term development on its own.

How are notes and ratings used in reports?

UpLVL uses the session note, session rating, and player development data together to generate parent-ready reports automatically.

Do reports come only from AI?

No. Reports are built from the real coaching input you log. UpLVL AI helps structure and polish that input into a clearer parent-facing update.

Do I need to write perfect notes for the system to work?

No. Short, honest coaching notes are enough. UpLVL is designed to help turn quick input into polished output.

Reports

How do parent reports work?

After logging sessions, go to Reports. UpLVL generates a parent-ready report for each player.

When does a new report get created?

Logging a session and updating player progress can trigger a fresh report generation.

Do I have to write reports from scratch?

No. UpLVL is built to turn your coaching work into polished parent communication automatically.

Does Send Batch review each report before sending?

No. Send Batch sends all queued reports immediately. Review individual reports first if you want to check them.

How does the parent receive their report?

The parent receives an email with a link to the report.

Do parents need an account or app to view a report?

No. They tap the link and the report opens in their browser.

What’s included in a parent report?

The session note, the session rating, and the player’s development data over time.

Can I customize what’s in a report?

Reports are structured automatically from what you log. Better notes create better reports.

What if a parent says they didn’t receive their report?

Ask them to check spam first. Then confirm the parent email on the player profile is correct. If needed, contact support.

Can I resend a report?

Yes. Go to Reports and resend it from the player’s report history.

What if a report doesn’t look right?

Check the session note and player updates behind it. If something still looks off, contact support.

My Team & Player Profiles

What does My Team show?

Roster size, sessions logged, reports ready, season trends, team skill averages, strengths, focus areas, and the team heat map.

What does a player profile show?

Skill ratings, session history, trends over time, and the player’s session notes.

What are the player tiers like Standout, Competitive, and Consistent?

They’re quick labels based on the player’s overall rating so you can read the roster faster.

How are skill scores calculated?

They’re based on the ratings you log across sessions, mapped into sport-specific skill categories.

Account & Billing

What’s included in the free plan?

Up to 5 players, including session logging, voice notes, AI-structured notes, and parent reports.

How do I upgrade my plan?

Go to Settings and open billing.

How does billing work?

Billing is monthly.

What happens if my billing fails?

You’ll receive an email notification. Contact support if you need help restoring access.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Deleted data can be restored within 14 days. Beyond the 14-day window, contact support.

How do I update my billing information?

Go to Settings and open the billing section.

Adding UpLVL To Your Phone

Can I use UpLVL on my phone?

Yes. UpLVL is built for coaches to use on their phone so they can quickly record session notes, update players, and keep reports moving right from the field.

How do I save UpLVL to my iPhone home screen?

Open uplvl.app in Safari, tap Share, then tap Add to Home Screen.

How do I save UpLVL to my Android home screen?

Open uplvl.app in Chrome, tap the menu, then choose Add to Home Screen or Install App.

Why should I save it to my home screen?

It opens faster and feels more like a native app from the field.

Privacy & Data

Who can see my players’ data?

Coaches see their own roster. Admins see all rosters within the program. Parents only see their own child’s report.

Do parents have an ongoing view of their child’s data?

No. Parents only see what you send them.

Is athlete data shared with anyone outside UpLVL?

No. Player data is never sold or shared with third parties.

Getting Help

Something isn’t working. What do I do?

Contact support with your account email and a description of the issue.

How do I reset my password?

Use Reset password from the sign-in screen.

What if I can’t log in?

Try Reset password first. If that doesn’t work, contact support.

Can you help me import my roster?

Yes. Send your roster as a CSV to support@getuplvl.com and we’ll handle it.

How do I submit feedback or a feature request?

Use the support form in Settings or email support@getuplvl.com.

Will UpLVL help us get started?

Yes. Early customers can reach out for onboarding help, including roster imports and setup support.
