Eva's strongest signal: Dribbling
Next jump: Positioning

Ball Control and Movement & Off-Ball are already showing up as meaningful strengths in match play, and those strengths are beginning to raise the quality of every rep. The next jump is Positioning.

Eva needs to develop positioning so the first move happens earlier, not after the play has already opened up. The next step is making pressure, cover, and recovery more repeatable.

How It Works

Move between four positional zones on a small grid, following a verbal or self-called sequence, to build instinctive awareness of where to be at each phase of play.

What You Need
conessoccer ball
Mindset Rep
Stay Mentally Engaged

Positioning is a mental game — it requires constant focus even when you're not involved in the immediate action. Stay locked in.

Your Focus

Good positioning is a habit, not a decision.

1
Set Up

Mark a 15x15 yard square with a cone in each corner (zones 1-4) and one in the center.

2
Run The Rep
A.
Start at the center. Call out 'wide right', sprint to zone 3 (back right corner). Pause 2 seconds, check your imaginary defensive shape.
B.
Call 'switch', run diagonally to zone 2 (front left). Pause and reset.
C.
Continue for 5 minutes: mix calls (wide left, drop, high line, center) and jog between zones to simulate off-ball movement.
3
Check It

Arrive at the zone, don't drift through it, stop and set

Goal

It's clicking when you move to the correct zone before the call comes, your positioning becomes instinctive, not something you have to think through each phase.

Helpful Cues
Arrive at the zone, don't drift through it, stop and setThink about what the ball is doing even when you don't have itMove at game speed, not jog speed
UPLVL IT

Play 2v3 so defenders must pressure, cover, and balance while outnumbered.

UpLVL Assessment
6 session notes and 8 skills interpreted for Eva's development
UpLVL
Eva looked sharp in the flow of play, and Ball Control and Movement & Off-Ball are starting to show up in the moments that matter. Those strengths are giving Eva more control in games, which supports cleaner possession, better tempo, and more dependable decisions over the course of a match. Eva is in the competitive range, with Ball Control is leading the way. Because Eva has been moving in the right direction, the next push is Positioning and Clearing, especially as the pace rises and decisions have to happen faster. If that work keeps moving toward the current strengths, Eva's game should feel more complete, more balanced, and more repeatable from one session to the next. That next step should also keep decision-making in view, so the work reflects what is showing up in play as well as the ratings.
Guide
How To Read The Ratings

Each skill gets a 1-10 rating that maps to a milestone, helping track skill development and player growth over time.

Skill Milestones

Milestones show progress in a specific skill. Players usually move through milestones with age, practice, and better game understanding.

Overall Development Stage

Stages describe the player's broader development level. They are based on the overall rating, which averages the skill ratings in the report.

A player can be at different milestones in different skills while still having one overall stage for the report. The value is seeing what changed from one evaluation to the next.

Hover or tap any stage or milestone below for the parent-facing meaning.

Latest Session Note
Coach RileyMar 31
Rating 7.3
Eva looked sharp in the flow of play. Ball Control and Movement & Off-Ball were the clearest separators in this session and created more control in the game. The next push is Positioning and Clearing so that level holds when the pace lifts, the decisions get tighter, and the game becomes less forgiving.
